13 Sep 2017Hi Amy, I was wondering if you could help me find a good pair of vintage style Levi’s, similar to the pair in your video. They don’t even have to be Levi’s but something similar to that style I guess. I’m always worried that they will be too baggy or short on me since my legs are on the smaller/skinnier side and I’m 5′ 6. But if you could help me find a good pair that would be great!
Thank you!
amy serrano
13 Sep 2017Hi!
The best place to score some vintage levis is in the men’s section of a thrift store. Go to goodwill, salvation army, Savers etc and grab a pair that is closest to your size (it’ll be impossible to find one that fits perfect for anyone) and take them to your tailor for alterations. and they’ll fit like a glove. That’s basically what Re/Done is based on. The pair that I have is re/done so I’ll leave that link for you here http://rstyle.me/n/csbfteccrax
If you’re not into thrifting here are some other pairs to consider:

14 Sep 2017hello, Amy! hope all’s well
here’s the thing I’ve been in love with the sock boots trend but I kind of did the mistake of buying a pair I LOVE but didn’t think about how I’d style them…..
https://www.ssense.com/en-sa/women/product/fendi/white-stretch-sock-boots/2027633
these are the boots, kinda wished I bought the black would’ve worn them by now, oh well.
I’d like to mention that I’m not comfortable with showing my legs AT ALL, I’m okay with cropped pants but nothing above mid legs. I’m curvy, big hips, also I don’t show my legs because I’m insecure about how big they are. I like to wear tight shirts or any thing that would show off my waist.
I though maybe I could wear them with some mom jeans and a cool shirt? but not so sure about that..
thank you :))
amy serrano
14 Sep 2017Hi a great option to still show off the booties would be a cropped kick flare denim or leather.
I love a mom jean as well just get one that shows your ankle so you can show off that shoe detail.
Something like this:

http://rstyle.me/n/csb42kccrax

You can thrown it with a basic tighter fitting shirt that you love. I like these options as well:

14 Sep 2017Hi Amy I was wondering what to even wear with pants like these since they are an interesting piece http://www.pacsun.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-pacsun-Site/default/mProduct-Show?pid=0860103680137&dwvar_0860103680137_color=275&start=15&cgid=womens-denim-shop-all
amy serrano
14 Sep 2017I love these!
You can do so much with these. Go basic everywhere else to really have these jeans be the statement.
A basic white tee with thin gold necklaces layered and loafers/mules and sunnies.
A chunky knit sweater with some classic white sneaker (stan smith, reebok etc)
A tied up top with booties and a drawstring pouch bag for a more dressed up look.
A graphic tee, a fishermans cap and old school vans.

14 Sep 2017I recently bought these pants and haven’t found another way to wear them besides wearing a plain top and my old skool vans. How would you style these trousers especially in the really cold months. It has a matching blazer but unfortunately the 2 is way to big (petite problems). I would love some outerwear suggestions as well as shoe suggestions. I’m 5’2 for reference and the pants stop an inch from my ankle and are really highwaisted. I usually wear sneakers as I work 2 jobs, volunteer at a daycare and commute to my college. I live in NYC and love neutrals. These pants will be for everyday wear. Thanks ❤️ http://www.stories.com/us/Ready-to-wear/Bottoms/Trousers/Pinstripe_Trousers/102345505-0432341002.2#c-24479

14 Sep 2017Hi!! Some other shoe options you can pair with this are loafers and Chelsea Boots.
You can try paring them with booties and a chunky knit sweater. This one is also great if you like more neutrals. I love wearing heat tech from Uniqlo and layer on top because they keep me warm and they’re so seamless.
Throw on a jacket. I love these options:

http://m.reebok.de/club-c-85-vintage/BS8243.html
Now I am looking for ways to style these for university and also for going out. I love classic/basic looks but I would really like to add something to it to make it more special! I would love to hear your suggestions! Lots of love and thank you for offering this style-advice!
amy serrano
14 Sep 2017Amazing pieces. I recently bought the reeboks as well. For university you can thrown on a printed tee or hoodie and a plaid check jacket.
Something like this
You can also do a cozy turtleneck with a denim jacket. A chic backpack http://rstyle.me/n/csb35dccrax
For going out you can pair with a shirt with puff sleeves http://rstyle.me/n/csb32nccrax and a chic little bag
A cool turtleneck something like this with some flare http://rstyle.me/n/csb35pccrax
or the beautiful tops from Realisationpar http://realisationpar.com/the-stevie-italia-spot/

14 Sep 2017Hi Amy, I saw your birthday pictures on your Instagram (Happy birthday btw!) and absolutely loved your crown! I was wondering where you bought it from, as my own birthday is coming up soon and I would love to jump on board the bejewelled headband train. I’ve tried having a look at etsy but a lot of them are very pricey. Thanks so much!

14 Sep 2017Hi Amy! This Saturday I’m going to a party with the theme “Animals gone wild”. It’s going to be a lot of older people there so I want to look really good. I might do some leopard dots on my face but I need help with an outfit! Thanks❤️
amy serrano
14 Sep 2017Hi! So fun! I love a theme party. I always look at the America’s Next Top Model Animal Photoshoot for reference for any chic animal parties. I think Jeremy Scott’s S/S 2010 Runway collection has amazing makeup inspiration that you can incorporate with your leopard spots and also get inspired by Something like this. A BRIGHT Bold eye to take it out of your usual makeup routine.

14 Sep 2017Hey Amy! Its lovely seeing how passionate you are about fashion 🙂
I just wanted to ask what brands would you recommend for jeans? I attend college, so spending a lot on jeans isnt an option and the worset part is that I’m really thin so I can never find jeans that fit really well. My waist is 22″ and I can never find anything in that :/ let me know what budget fruiendly brands you think I should visit. Thank you 🙂 take care 🙂
amy serrano
14 Sep 2017Hi ! Topshop has great options for you! Try the Jamie Jeans they’re so great. I also like some of the styles from Pac Sun bullhead denim. They have size 22 🙂 try these
Also I’m not a huge fan of Hollister but these styles would be worth trying because they have small sizes http://rstyle.me/n/csb3kvccrax

14 Sep 2017Hi! I would wear it with an ankle kick flare style denim (cream, denim, black) something like this: http://rstyle.me/n/csb3byccrax
a black heeled booties and a camel coat over top http://rstyle.me/n/csb3dgccrax. A cam/ or thin longsleeve (uniqlo has some great options in the airstream collection) underneath to keep warm and not itchy.

14 Sep 2017Hey Amy!
I’m 18 and I need a little help. How could i look more professional and girly at the same time (with jewelleries, and a crossbody bag that would match the majority of my wardrobe)? Also I’ve been looking for a dress for winter to a restaurant but the ones that I saw online I’m not sure would suit me nicely because I’m 163 cm.
Dresses I like:

Bag:

If you could help me find a similar dress that looked nice with that bag, and also if you could put together a few professional but girly outfits from F21 I would be very pleased.
Thanks a lot. You are the best and keep it up. <3

14 Sep 2017Hello my darling Amy! 🙂 I am in love with your channel and really appreciate all of the wonderful fashion knowledge you put out into this world. I am slowly realizing that quality over quantity is the way to go especially in a cramp New York City apartment and would love some nice mid-range brands you recommend to shop that sell staples made of cottons, silks, etc. for under $100? I can’t deal with fast fashion polyester and ridiculously suffocating synthetic fibers anymore and would love to start investing in pieces that I can wear and care for for years to come. Lots of love!!
amy serrano
14 Sep 2017I really love: And other stories.
Zara ( I know you said not fast fashion but its a cool spot just weed out those wack materials)
Uniqlo
Everlane
Mango
Try scouring Off Saks and Nordstrom Rack for discounted goods. I always score there

14 Sep 2017Hello lovely lady! 🙂 One more! Do you know of any jeans with high back pockets? (That’s seriously the biggest secret to a perkier looking butt; I only found the Fashion Nova jeans in “Do You Wanna Ride” that have higher back pockets to make yo booty look cute-y!) So, so much love <3
amy serrano
14 Sep 2017Hi!
I dont think I’ve seen any pockets higher than Fashion Novas. A good idea would be to bring a pair of black jeans you’re willing to experiment with to a local tailor and have them seam rip the existing pockets and then sew them higher.
could be a cool look.
let me know how it goes

14 Sep 2017Hi Amy I have been looking for a simple denim skirt but I’m ballin on a budget so i came across romwe and zaful and I was wondering on your opinions if they are even worth it like the sizeing, styles, quality. Like girl are these stores even worth it.xoxo
amy serrano
14 Sep 2017Hi!
They can sometimes be a miss but I’ve def. scored some pieces from both that are great products and I love.
I actually got a deconstructed type skirt from Zaful and I wear a bunch. The quality is noticeably cheaper (they cut alot of corners. ie. fake pockets instead of functional) so if you’re okay with that you should be fine. In this case you really do get what you pay for. The sizing has been true to size for me. I’m petite 5’0 and I always get small or extra small.
Hope this was helpful

17 Sep 2017Hi you can pair these with ankle skinny jeans (try black or denim) another great pant option can be ankle trouser pants (something like this: http://rstyle.me/n/csecm8ccrax ) paired with a top ( i like these: http://rstyle.me/n/csecp4ccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csecqjccrax ) Also try denim shorts a linen button down http://rstyle.me/n/csecq2ccrax and a straw hat.

17 Sep 2017Gorgeous! I love when its paired with a crop top and a blazer jacket thrown over. Also a heel to give that type of pant leg the necessary height. If you’re not into crop tops I love when they are paired with the top tucked in. I even like to chill it out sometimes with a band tee or vintage tee and a stacked bootie and fisherman cap. 15 Sep 2017hi amyy! how can i style these Stella McCartney platforms? http://cdn.yournextshoes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Stella-McCartney-Elyse-Star-Platform-Oxfords.jpg
i want to be able to dress them down and up if possible. thank youu :))
amy serrano
17 Sep 2017Hi! I think def. keep the pant slim and to the ankle or bare your ankle for a more flattering look and then the top can have a bit more volume. a slightly baggier t-shirt. ruffles. puffed sleeves etc.
To dress em down you can wear them with skinny jeans that graze your ankle and virtually any kind of t-shirt combo. Can also throw on a vintage denim jacket. Also look great with jogger style pant (http://rstyle.me/n/csedb4ccrax ) a white tee throw on a baker boy hat for a more styled look . . A mini skirt or denim shorts, band tee or vintage tee with a blazer and le specs sunglasses.
Dress up. Cropped trousers (see these: http://rstyle.me/n/csedbmccrax ) and a button down.
Keep dresses and skirt mini (above the knee) for a more flattering look and throw a long coat over. See: http://realisationpar.com/the-alexandra-italia-spot/ http://rstyle.me/n/csedc4ccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csedc9ccrax

16 Sep 2017Hey Amy, I wanted to know what you would recommend doing when trying to lose weight. I recently gained a bunch of weight and I’m in the process of losing it. I don’t want to spend a bunch of money on clothes that’ll be too big for me soon, but I also want to feel confident in what I’m wearing in the meantime. I’m just not sure what the best route would be, and I thought that maybe you’ve had a client or something where you’ve encountered this question before.
Thanks in advance!
amy serrano
17 Sep 2017Hi! I would suggest getting a few key pieces that aren’t crazy expensive. (perhaps something with some stretch that way it can fit not just one size but a few sizes as you lose weight). Hit up Asos! Hit up Nordstrom rack. Hit up target. That way you still feel confident in what you’re wearing and they are a great fit! Try to stick to pieces that are very versatile. You can refer to my wardrobe basics post and create many outfits out of those pieces. And you can funk up those pieces and give it your own personal style with accessories! Go crazy in accessories dept. to change up the look of the outfits and so you’re not bored wearing the same pieces. ( Hats, jewelry, Belts shoes, bags, sunglasses.. even makeup. change up the look with some MAC RUBY WOO and you’ll feel like a million bucks)

17 Sep 2017Hi!! I love Asos petite. Top Shop Petite. I like Uniqlo for pants they do in house alterations (its either free or 5 dollars depending on the hem) Very convenient and its honestly really great quality. My other suggestion is to become best friends with a tailor/seamstress that way you dont feel restricted. My favorite tip I learned working as a stylist. We alter EVERYTHING. 17 Sep 2017Hi I would say instead of looking at the length of the blazer look at how the shoulders fit and the sleeves. (although sleeves are easy to alter) I think when it fits correct at the shoulder -armpit area thats when it looks MOST flattering. I would stick to a length that is no longer 1 inch from where your butt ends. Blazers that sit just past the waist are probably the MOST flattering for petite but I personally love an oversized boyfriend style blazer that goes a bit longer. I would pay more attention to the fit of the shoulders so you dont look like you’re swimming in it. sleeker designs look best.

Its beautiful I would pair it with cropped ankle kick flare denim (can also be black cropped trousers if its something a bit more dressy?) and black booties that come up a bit higher (something like this: http://rstyle.me/n/csf2psccrax). A small black cross body and layered gold necklaces since it has a gorgeous plunge neckline.

18 Sep 2017so I just found you on youtube and I love your videos! you have the same passion for fashion that I do. I have many hobbies and fashion is one of them. It’s so fun for me. I style all my friends and family. Did you ever go to fashion school? What did you major in? because in college right now and I would love to have a fashion blog like you, but I’m just curious on how you got there.
amy serrano
18 Sep 2017Hi!
Start your blog right now! I dont think there are any necessary steps to starting a blog.
Jump on wordpress.org or create a site on one of those user friendly platforms like square space or wix and just start it.
I did go to university and I majored in Fashion Merchandising but I dont think I necessarily use those any of those skills I learned in school as much as what I’ve learned by youtube-ing and googling. Fashion has evolved since I’ve been in school so I just try to read alot and watch fashion trends and consumer behaviors.xx

19 Sep 2017Hello beauty! I want to buy a watch that looks elegant and classy. As it is for my birthday, I can afford something between 100-200€, but I need one that can fit with almost everything. Can you suggest me some brands you know? I saw you have a DW, any model you would recommend me (I have a tiny wristle)? Thank you❤️
P.S: loving your blog and youtube, you rock girl , xx
amy serrano
19 Sep 2017Hi babe! Thank you
The DW model I received was the Classic Petite Ashfield. I have such a tiny wrist and I thought it fit beautiful. In the past I had favored quite a big faced watch but I feel like this is the most flattering.
I would suggest to pick a finish that complements the tones in what you wear the most… cool tones? silver. warm tones? gold
Rose gold I felt was perfect because I feel like you can get away with wearing it with so much.

Why dont you try a wrap velvet dress. Super chic. See: http://rstyle.me/n/csizmyccrax Pair with some statement earrings try: http://rstyle.me/n/csizqtccrax

and a metallic ankle strap here. See this style: http://rstyle.me/n/csizywccrax I would say gold or silver depending on your jewelry and even black can work tbh.
This one is my favorite dress for this occasion: http://rstyle.me/n/csizuwccrax styled in the same way.
Also I love this http://rstyle.me/n/csizticcrax and you can pair it with this blazer ( http://rstyle.me/n/csiztzccrax ) to keep warm.

19 Sep 2017hey amy! i love your videos so much, and i think you’re a very fun person.
i want to ask, how do you be confident? i feel like i always cant find confidence to dress myself the way i want to or act the way i want to because i feel like i stand out too much ): i feel like a pimple lol.
love you!

19 Sep 2017Hi babe!
This sounds like your dealing with fear of judgement from other people?
Alot of the time that kind of judgement is in our heads, I say wear what you want and how you want to wear it and most def. act how you want because even if you do get a few stares thats THEIR problem and not yours. You are out there living your life how YOU want.
They are the ones that are closed minded and need to learn accept and appreciate differences.
The best way to gain confidence is to to exercise that muscle everyday and do things we are scared to do. You develop confidence after you see that nothing life threatening happened to you and you feel proud of yourself. So today wear what you want to wear and go out and rock it (no fidgeting, hunched over or arms crossed you’ll come across like your uncomfortable) just stand tall and own it. and tomorrow the same thing and the day after that. XO

19 Sep 2017Reallyyyyy debating buying the nudestix copper foil pencil ever since i saw it on your channel, but i wanted your opinion if you think it’s an essential or not !?😊
amy serrano
19 Sep 2017Hi! Do you have gold/copper type of eyeshadows in a cream form? If not this one is beautiful and such easy application. I really love that about Nudestix as a whole.
If you wanna still get that look but at a more affordable price take a look at Maybelline Bad to the Bronze

19 Sep 2017Hi Amy,
I recently discovered your youtube channel, and I’m so glad that I did! I would definitely consider myself a really stylish/on trend person but I find myself in style ruts often especially when it comes to outfits to wear to class (I’m in college). I usually end up just throwing on jeans and a tee. How would you style a basic white tee and jeans so that it’s less basic and more on trend but still casual enough to wear to class? Thanks 🙂
amy serrano
19 Sep 2017You should pick up a plaid blazer for fall! I think thats such a great way to have a bit of an elevated style. I love working with layered necklaces and hats when I’m in a tee and jeans (its my uniform).
Experiment with different type of denim as well. maybe grab a cropped ankle pant and pair them with a bootie that comes up a bit more on the ankle. (doesn’t have to have a high heel can be a comfortable block one)
Belts are also fun you can tuck the tee in and wear a cool belt (head to your local thrift store to pick up some dope ones)

19 Sep 2017Hey Amy! I love your blog, I’m really into skin care. I would like to know if you use any anti aging products and if so what would you recommend to start using? I’m only 22 but aI heard that is good to start before you get wrinkles as a way for prevension. Also have you ever tried the perricone “no makeup, makeup” they look very interesting but I haven’t tried, if you do, i would love to see your reviews. XX
amy serrano
19 Sep 2017For any age I would recommend a sunscreen every single day. Its the ultimate prevention in age spots, wrinkles, damanged skin barrier.
Also all skin types I would say to incorporate a vitamin C (antioxidant) into your morning routine. Right now I’m using the Drunk Elephant Vitamin C and I mix in The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% and then I follow up with moisturizer and sunscreen in the AM. I hear really great things about Paula’s Choice Vitamin C so maybe try that its less expensive than Drunk Elephant.
I have really dry skin so I try to keep my skin extremely moisturized to prevent aging. My dry skin tends to favor rich creams with ceramides like Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich, Dr. Jart Ceramidin or the It Cosmetics Confidence In a Cream. Those type of textures.
I have only tried the Perricone Highlighter and I really enjoyed it. Haven’t tried much else but I’ll think about picking a few things up to review xo

19 Sep 2017Hi Amy!
After watching your video (love your videos btw😊) where you said that the Benefit airbrush concealer was great, I decided to try it. But then I found out that Glossier is coming to France for awhile and the Glossiers strech concealer is also one of your fave concealers (i think 😁). So now I’m quite indecisive. Which concealer I should buy / which one is better?
Thank you!
amy serrano
19 Sep 2017If you favor a more natural look (lighter coverage) and have a dry under eye I would go for Glossier Stretch Concealer because it leaves it very dewy and skin like. the con is that it does crease so setting it lightly would be best so you dont take away all the dewiness it leaves. The dew is why i love it so much for under eyes.
I like the airbrush concealer because it is also very natural. The con is sometimes I feel like the color of it can look a bit dull (ashy) so it doesn’t leave it as bright as the stretch concealer. PRO: Its in between a matte and a dewy finish so it doesn’t crease as much as the Glossier one.

19 Sep 2017Hi Amy 🙂 I recently purchased this jacket but i’m having trouble styling it: https://www.zara.com/ca/en/woman/new-in/short-jacket-with-faux-shearling-c840002p4742163.html. What are 2-3 ways you would style it?
amy serrano
21 Sep 2017HI! I love that jacket! What a great buy
You can style it with with slim cropped trousers maybe something like this: http://rstyle.me/n/csiyrtccrax and a bootie (doesn’t have to have a heel) or sneakers.
For something a bit more styled I think a plaid trouser can be really cool: something like http://rstyle.me/n/csiyydccrax
http://rstyle.me/n/csiyzbccrax witha turtle neck underneath. could be plain if you go for a patterned pant.
Can be worn with a skirt as well ( http://rstyle.me/n/csiy49ccrax ) a cream top with and loafers.
A dress (something like this http://rstyle.me/n/csizdsccrax ) with heels or even a high heeled bootie or old school vans
You can never go wrong with blue jeans and a white top (can be anything a teeshirt, turtleneck, chunky knit sweater, button down?)

20 Sep 2017I’m in such a rut with finding great jeans! I was die hard for skinny jeans for so long, but lately I hate the way that they look on me. I LOVE the look of boyfriend jeans, and I have a pair, but I am so short (5’1) and my lower half is a little…thicker, lol. I just have big thighs, so I feel like boyfriend jeans don’t flatter my body shape. I’m also a grad student from a rural area, so I’m on a budget and options for going to actually try on jeans are pretty limited. I live in Arkansas, and the closest mall is an hour away. And basically the only place to shop for jeans there is Dillards. So I’m really struggling!! For reference, I’m 5’1 and a size 27. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. 🙂 LOVE your videos and your spunky personality, btw!!!
amy serrano
20 Sep 2017Hi !! Thank you so much ! I think you should try the girlfriend Jean they are a bit slimmer than boyfriend jeans which I understand why you would feel it doesn’t flatter you. It’s better to go with a more fitted shape. The hi rise Girlfriend jeans from urban outfitters are a must in my book. Also try ordering from Asos they have a petite section and I really love their girlfriend jeans as well! I think you’ll love them. If you check hautelook.com you can find some deAls for jbrand and Paige. I think you might like that fit as well. They have straight leg styles so not super skinny but still very flattering.
Also you might be into the cropped kick flare
Denim. A lot of retailers have them now. Check Target XO

20 Sep 2017Hi Amy!
First, I have to let you know that I LOVE this section and I love that we are able to see what everyone else is asking and your replies. I’m learning so much! Thanks for creating this section!
Second, I wanted to ask for a little inspiration. I can pretty easily get stuck in my uniform (jacket/blazer, tucked in t shirt, rolled up bf jeans, and ankle boots). Can you give me some more ideas especially for fall and winter to do something a little different with jackets and blazers? ( i have all sorts of both: cropped, oversized, long, fitted, denim, leather etc) I’m definitely a neutrals girl and wear my “patterns” on my shoes. 🙂 love my uniform but need a little more variety! thanks girl!
amy serrano
21 Sep 2017I’m glad you love!!
Also your uniform sounds like my uniform haha and I know this rut all too well. Try pairing your suit jacket with the super popular (so you can find anywhere) track pant and you can still pair them it with your beloved bootie. Try with a turtle neck inside and tucked into the pant for the colder weather and a t-shirt for warmer temps.
Try a denim on denim combo currently. i’m really loving cropped denim (see these http://rstyle.me/n/csiyi2ccrax ) paired with booties is super cool. Try a beret hat for a fresh approach.
Try one of your oversized blazer style jackets with a mini skirt. Could be denim could be check print pair with your booties or some over the knee boots to keep your legs somewhat warm (not sure how cold the climate is where you live?) You can also do this with a dress.
xoxo

20 Sep 2017Hi Amy!! How are you? I recently bought these trousers (https://imgur.com/a/N0QRj ; https://imgur.com/a/uKYI3) and I’m not really sure how to style them. What do you think would look good with them? I’ve seen people wearing this types of trousers with tucked in shirts, but I kinda want to style them with a shirt/blouse/etc over it. Also, could you give me ideas of coats/jackets I can wear with these trousers? Thank you Amy! I absolutely love your style xx Love you
amy serrano
21 Sep 2017Hi if you don’t want to tuck in shirts I would suggest going with tops that sit right at the waist if they are a tighter fit.
Also tops that have a looser but somewhat boxy or structure fit will look great.
SEE: http://rstyle.me/n/csix2nccrax, http://rstyle.me/n/csix27ccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csix3rccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csixyuccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csix5nccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csix5xccrax
I think with these just stay clear of any long and fitted tops basically.
For coats I love these: http://rstyle.me/n/csix7kccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csix8wccrax
If you are petite and do decide to go with these longer type coats be sure to pair with a heel or all that material can overwhelm your frame.

20 Sep 2017Hi Amy, first of all I love your videos, I absolutely love your style, my question is: “How can I style my vans old skool?” I want to look more chic and stylish
amy serrano
21 Sep 2017Hi you can wear them with trousers that just graze your ankle and are tapered at the ankle. or a cropped trouser as well.
See: http://rstyle.me/n/csixkyccrax, http://rstyle.me/n/csixmnccrax, http://rstyle.me/n/csixmxccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csixneccrax Paired with a t-shirt and a Moto leather (or pleather) jacket or a boyfriend blazer style jacket. A bit more loose and relaxed so you dont look like a old school “business woman”.
You can wear them with a tapered denim. a white button down shirt tucked in to the jeans and a cool belt. Also with a camel coat thrown on top for colder weather. You can also pair them with dresses and skirts any length will work

amy serrano
21 Sep 2017Hi! I personally think its best to go business casual. For me court deserves a bit of professionalism. But you don’t have to go in a pant suit or skirt suit. I would wear some black high wait trousers with a top maybe something like this http://rstyle.me/n/csiwc6ccrax tucked in , or even a plain white tee w/ loafers. Or even black jeans and a top like this http://rstyle.me/n/csiwejccrax I would stay away from flip flops, sweat pants, hoodies and hats.

21 Sep 2017How do you pick the right fit + material of a blazer? How do you wear a white blazer (dressed up/dressed down)?
amy serrano
23 Sep 2017For the right fit of the blazer it should fit your shoulders best (thats the hardest part to tailor) the length and arms can always be altered.
You want it to fit nicely at shoulder and armpit area and have it be comfortable. Not too much room where your arm is swimming and
It shouldn’t be too tight to where its pulling or there is puckering or wrinkles in the arms or the front button looks pulled.
If you opt for a boyfriend blazer then its fine if its a bit more oversized.
As far as material goes: A blend is nice because it gives the look that it is more expensive but its blended with synthetics and cheaper fabrications like polyester, acrylic (looks like wool) cotton and viscose so its more durable and resilient and super easy to care for in comparison to silk or cashmere.
Depends on what you’re looking for really. Different materials can give different looks and also it can be linen or cotton (more breathable) for summer and wool and cashmere for winter to keep warm.
Hope this helps

21 Sep 2017Hi Amy! Any suggestions on how to tuck in tops which are a bit too long?? They make my pants look wrinkly and unflattering
amy serrano
23 Sep 2017Hi you can try The Half Tuck where you only tuck in the front and kind of pull it out a bit so it doesn’t look too done and perfect. I hope that makes sense. You can also smooth the shirt all the way around so everything lays flat.
You can also try folding the top first and then tuck it in. If you need it to be secured you can secure with a pin so it doesn’t move around (hopefully doesn’t damage with a hole) and then tuck it in.

25 Sep 2017HI!
I love that color! So beautiful
So you def. have some options: I say you can combine that color with tones of gold, bronze, blush would look beautiful as would rose gold and nude.
1) You can go for bronze/gold jewelry (take a look at MANGO for statement earrings sooo cute I love so many http://rstyle.me/n/csmy54ccrax ) shoes: http://rstyle.me/n/csmyxpccrax, http://rstyle.me/n/csmyy3ccrax
2) Same color as dress for shoe (something like: https://www.barneys.com/product/prada-velvet-ankle-strap-platform-sandals-504609716.html) and a nude or rose gold clutch (http://rstyle.me/n/csmyppccrax, https://goo.gl/zA2kQq, https://goo.gl/svUum7 ) and delicate jewelry. https://goo.gl/uFvUAF https://goo.gl/8xLNe7

25 Sep 2017Hi!!
Try the petite section from TopShop!
I think you’ll like the fit. Their 0’s are true 0s.
Also try PAC SUN they have small sizes as well and I feel like they’ve stepped up their style. They’re denim is pretty cute and they go as small as 22. Asos petite is also great. So you dont feel restircted to just the “petite” section yelp a tailor/seamstress so you can get things altered. I think you’ll look and feel great if all the pieces are tailored to you. XO

28 Sep 2017Hi! Thank you!!

I love these earrings http://rstyle.me/n/csr8ieccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csr8giccrax with a messy high bun ( see this kendall jenner reference: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/54/ea/45/54ea459a2e96b767d96a071663c27cfc–top-not-bun-high-messy-bun.jpg
or this hair low romantic bun https://i.pinimg.com/736x/41/d2/f0/41d2f06508ede87945bc3fbf8aa46906–michelle-williams-hair-low-side-buns.jpg with a smaller drop earring these are nice cuz they are rose gold and i think will pair nicely with the colors in your dress ( http://rstyle.me/n/csr8jbccrax)
For makeup i think you can do a deeper red/burgundy lip and and a naked eye… like mainly mascara and just highlight the inner corner of your eye to make them pop and a slight bronzer across your bottom last line.
OR a copper smokey eye would look killer if you want a more done eye and you can pair it with a nudey lip

28 Sep 2017Hola!!
This one is my favorite from the ones you listed. I think its perfect for a wedding and will look gorgeous on you!
http://es.shein.com/Self-Tie-Wrap-Maxi-Cami-Dress-p-372769-cat-1727.html
You can pair with bold geometric type earrings ( i love these http://rstyle.me/n/csr88eccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csr88rccrax http://rstyle.me/n/csr87eccrax and a nude strappy heel.
If you go for something like this http://rstyle.me/n/csr89hccrax you can pair with a black heel.
If you do silver jewelry or mixed metals than I think Silver metallic heels.
Sleek your hair like Millie Bobby brown with that nice deep side part https://images.milled.com/2016-09-25/7ujDRodabeAykJ3S/nWn_Om5gSi1U.jpg
As for makeup keep it minimal. I love your skintone with a bit of pink blushy and a pinky nude lip. if you want to dress up your eye a very soft taupe brown keep it close to your lash line as just use it to define the eye and smoke it out a tiny bit just to difuse it.
You’ll look soooo chic !!

27 Sep 2017Hi Amy,
I’m a new subbie on YT, and I love your videos! My style is very similar to yours and I was wondering what shapes/styles look best for my body – I’m petite, but curvy and I’m about a size 8 and 5ft 1 in. I love high waisted items, but sometimes feel like they don’t suit me and make my torso look even smaller. I love feminine yet comfortable items, so I love maxi skirts but I want to step outside my comfort zone so I thought I would reach out.
Thanks!

28 Sep 2017Hi!!
I love this website for curves. http://www.houseofcb.com/ They have this nice elasticity that hugs your body incredibly making it comfortable! Dont let the styling on the site scare you! LOL Since you said we have very similar styles I pulled a few of my favorite pieces and I’ll let you know how I’d style them.
http://www.houseofcb.com/shahla-black-seamless-knit-pencil-skirt-us.html This skirt is so amazing you can dress up or down. scrunch it up a bit to make shorter or wear it as is. Its so comfortable because its a knit. You can wear this with vintage tees, band tees, or just a plain white tee with sneakers. You can dress it up with a black tank tucked in and heels.
For fall you can wear with a black long sleeve and one of those check blazers you’ve probably seen if not (check Top Shop, Zara or mango) and pair with over the knee boots.
Dresses like this http://www.houseofcb.com/grace-chocolate-velvet-wrap-dress-us.html can be worn with a t-shirt underneath and sneakers a basket bag. or for more of a fall look a cream turtleneck and boots (doesn’t have to have a heel)
Instead of doing high waist try a mid rise. Since you’re petite it’ll probably come up a lil higher than normal anyways and you might find it still feels like a high waist. ( http://rstyle.me/n/csr9mcccrax )
Also these from GAP and they also come in petite so you might really love this denim.
For Fall try skirts and dresses that come up shorter and then pair with a longer coat (passed your knees like V LONG!)
Try ankle flare kick crop pants and pair with a bootie that comes up further passed your ankle.
Also try a mid rise wide leg pant that has verticle stripes pair with a vintage tee, layered necklaces and also with a stacked heeled bootie

27 Sep 2017Hello Amy,
I really need your help with styling this Zara embroidered tulle top.
https://www.zara.com/sg/en/woman/tops/embroidery-and-prints/embroidered-tulle-top-c733895p4675547.html
Could you please suggest some ideas in how to style this top in as many ways as possible so I can make full use of it both for summers and winters. For summer I also want ideas that are not too revealing. I cannot wear a bustier or bra top underneath because I come from a very conservative society. But I really want to wear this in a way that it makes the statement that it is supposed to. Please please help me out. Thanks a billion in advance. Lots of love. xx
amy serrano
28 Sep 2017Hi !
You can pair it with a black tank underneath or black https://www.zara.com/sg/en/woman/tops/view-all/camisole-top-with-thin-straps-c733890p4833628.html so that its not too revealing
Summer: basically you can wear with anything denim, denim vintage pants with the black cami underneath and the tulle top laying over top the denim. Denim skirt, denim shorts ( if thats okay?)
To dress up you can pair with the same black top tucked in and black trousers, black patent skirt
black heels or burgundy heels for an extra punch
For winter can pair a cream thin turtle neck underneath and tucked into denim.
I also love the idea of pairing this same combo with burgundy kick flare cords http://rstyle.me/n/csr96eccrax and brown or black booties.
xx

amy serrano
28 Sep 2017Hi I would search Etsy online there a bunch of sellers who have random one offs that you can find t-shirt. I have found those that specifically curate vintage tee tend to be very pricey like $200 and up like afterlifeboutique.com is amazing but $$$
I always find mine off line because they tend to up sell online. so you’re better off going to a local thrift store or vintage store for some good steals. If you don’t care that its not true vintage,https://daydreamerla.com/collections/rock-tees
and Urban Outfitters here: http://rstyle.me/n/cssawvccrax

29 Sep 2017Hey Amy , I really love Audrey Hepburn’s style in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. How could I go about recreating that style in a more modern way? Thanks!!
amy serrano
2 Oct 2017Hi! That one is super easy because those pieces are so timeless and classic.
She wore such iconic pieces that it doesn’t even seem dated to this day
Little black dress. Black cigarette pants. Rayban Wayfarers. Tan trench coat. Striped sweater.Black turtle neck.
Hit up spots like Aritzia, COS, And Other Stories and Zara for a modern take on those classics if you want something a little bit more fashion-y but you should be able to find these staples at your favorite places to shop

My style is usually a bit less flashy and I try and keep

30 Sep 2017Hi Amy!
As fall is approaching I’m trying to find a good pair of boots. I’m really into the whole sock boot trend but not sure if I can pull them off very well or if they’d function well in my life as I am a student and am constantly walking all over campus (also the judgement for dressing “fancy” on campus is real). I wear a lot of straight leg, cropped jeans so need a boot that would look good with that style of pant but preferably something that could also look good with skinny jeans or a dress if I did ever decide to switch it up with my style.
Thank you!
amy serrano
2 Oct 2017Hi! grab a pair with a chunkier heel I promise you they are so comfortable !!
Here are a few I found
http://rstyle.me/n/csv6a9ccrax
http://rstyle.me/n/csv59dccrax
http://rstyle.me/n/csv6azccrax
http://rstyle.me/n/csv6beccrax
If you love the sock heel just pick an ankle bootie that comes up a bit higher. I love how these pair with dresses. makes the look a bit more edgy I think and as far as skinny jeans it continues the streamlined look. Also try a cropped pair of kick flare jeans booties like these look killer !

30 Sep 2017Amy!! I think i remember seeing embroidered jeans or a jacket at some point on your channel but i can’t find it anymore!! Obviously there’s a lot of individual personality stuff that goes into that, but i love your style and attitude and outlook, and i was wondering if you had any suggestions?
Thank you so much. I love your channel. Also, i live in LA and always love seeing where you’re out and about.

1 Oct 2017Hey! I’m really looking for the PERFECT sleek white sneakers. The Stan smith are a classic but I want something different. I saw the common projects (https://www.mytheresa.com/int_en/common-projects-sneakers-original-achilles-aus-leder-838304.html?catref=category) ones and I sort of like them but I’m not sure if they go with everything. FYI: my style is very changing, some days I feel like wearing a “boyish” pant suit, others I feel like wearing “girly” skirts and dresses sometimes oversized sometimes fitted. So I really need the perfect pair that will go with everything (cigaret pants, skinny jeans, wide leg pants, skirts of all types). My favorite sneakers I think were the open leather Valentino sneakers (https://www.mytheresa.com/int_en/open-leather-sneakers-708100.html?catref=category) in Burgundy because I feel like that color goes with everything but they are sold out in my size. So now I have to choose between navy or red (they call them Burgundy but they’re brighter than the others)
https://www.mytheresa.com/int_en/open-leather-sneakers-708504.html?catref=category
https://www.mytheresa.com/int_en/000276-valentino-garavani-open-leather-sneakers-789409.html?catref=category

3 Oct 2017Good Morning! (or afternoon or whenever you see this) I am on the HUNT for a pair of jeans in a particular style. I’m looking for
-medium wash
-high waisted
-distressed (slightly, ripped at knees and/or hem)
-skinny fit
-<$100
-NOT ankle length
My main trouble has been finding a pair that is not ankle length or cropped. I am 5'11" so anything cropped is practically mid-calf on me haha, also i've found that its hard to find a pretty medium wash. A lot of times they are too grey or bright blue or too blown out in the middle of the leg. I've searched high and low (urban, nordstrom, madewell, asos, gap) so I'm hoping you know of a hidden gem!

amy serrano
4 Oct 2017Hi!
I love girlfriend jeans so that they aren’t too baggy but also not a skinny jean. I like skinny black jeans but not blue jeans if that makes sense. LOL but thats just my preference. I love ASOS petite section and Top Shop petite section. Urban Outfitters I love as well, they dont have a petite section but I love all their cropped selections they fit perfect!! Try these jeans from urban they are my favorite: http://rstyle.me/n/csx8sjccrax
So navigate through those sites and to see what works for your style. For coats I would really suggest the petite section so that it fits perfect. I’ve lucked out with a Zara XS and HM size 2’s as well. I think coats look best when they stop at the knee and fitted at the shoulder/armpit area.
I’ll be doing a video on petites so stay tuned as well.
Hope that helps !! XO

5 Oct 2017How can I pull off the off duty skater look? (Oversized, baggy clothing) without looking crazy? And what are some good ways to cover up your butt if you’re on your period?(asking for a friend;)
amy serrano
20 Oct 2017I would choose one piece to be oversized and baggy. so pick a baggier bottom but pair it with a tighter fitting top or a loose oversized top and a tighter fitting jeans.
its all about balancing porportions.
If you do a baggier bottom make sure it fits at the waist at least so you’re not swimming in material.
As for when you’re on your period you can wear a longer jacket that goes past your butt
or opt for boyfriend jeans. there is alwyas the tie around the waist but thats not my favorite look.
If it were me I would do a black t-shirt dress that way its not hugging my body.
Hope that helps

5 Oct 2017Hi!! Quick question i just bought a leather skirt cause i think it will look good with a lot of things but i don’t know what shoes i should pair it with. I’m not a boots girl since it makes my legs look short and stubby ( I’m 5’5″). So what shoes i should wear it with in the winter time?? xoxo
amy serrano
6 Oct 2017Hi you can pair them with sneakers. Simple and sleek are my favorite. Not sure what the climate is where you live but I do think boots are best for winter. 5’5 isn’t short I think you’ll pull them off perfect! Find a pair that has bit of a point to lengthen and try an over the knee boot. Asos has some affordable ones and Stuart Weitzman is what everyone knocks off. They are super flattering on everyone !! Xo
amy serrano
20 Oct 2017I think you can still wear boots but if you dont want to do ankle boots try over the knee boots. something that is pretty tight to your legs. Think: http://rstyle.me/n/ctf3qxccrax
You can also do sneakers. I love sneakers with leather skirts.
You can also wear them with flats, mules, and oxfords,

I have a networking event coming up at my university and am in need of some inexpensive pointed black leather pumps. I’ve been trying to find a pair that are less than 3.5 inches tall (I’m pretty tall), under $100, and comfortable to walk in for a few hours. 20 Oct 2017Hi ! Cool jacket!
You can pair it with white denim, black denim, patchwork denim,
over your casual dresses.
also skirts, you can do a lighter or darker wash denim or again black or white.
You can also pair it with workout clothes that are having a moment right now. Track pants a white tee and a denim jacket.

7 Oct 2017How can I wear dark grey converse? I love them but I never know how to wear them helpp!!😥😥
amy serrano
20 Oct 2017I honestly think they can go with everything. Easily pair them with other neutrals and denim.
They act the same as black or white. so your possibilities are endless
A striped shirt (can be black and white white and navy) and denim would look nice and a black bag.
If you’re wondering about colors will combine nice with your pinks, reds, purples and blues.

20 Oct 2017That sounds so fun!! take me with you 😉
You can wear some fun denim or any denim that you have I love these http://rstyle.me/n/ctf2kwccrax
I dont if you would be down but I’m SOOOO into this look.
https://shop.mango.com/us/women/pants-straight/asymmetric-fastening-trousers_11037659.html?c=37&n=1&s=search
In particular I love those pants. you can do something like that with the boots and with a white tee and a denim jacket.
If you want to go with a sporty look a bomber would be so cute !
You can incorporate the gold with maybe a baseball cap. or do a fun face paint 🙂

20 Oct 2017I really love how they styled it with that chunky knit sweaters and black booties.
You can also switch out the booties and pair with sneakers.
I would also pair with a crewneck and a long camel coat w/ gold accessories.
For dressing up you can pair with silk long sleeve something like:
and strappy heels and an interesting bag https://shop.mango.com/us/women/bags-crossbody-bags/tassel-embroidered-clutch_13085670.html?c=99
I think these boots would look so dope with them as well because they come up your leg a bit http://rstyle.me/n/ctf2f5ccrax
Can pair it with cremes, tans or blacks on top. Either button downs, or chunky knits or turtlenecks.
opt for a camel coat on top for colder weather.

11 Oct 2017Hi Amy!!
It’s only October, but the company where my husband works already invited us to the Christmas party!! I’m freaking out because last year I went with jeans and a sweater – long story – and EVERY girl was wearing a dress. I felt so bad LOL!
So this year I want to be prepared and the hubby – the only one of us with an income – told me that I can buy a little something for the occasion. I love your style and I’m sure you’ll be able to help me picking something.
My body type is quite difficult. I’m not only short as you are – I’m 5’2″ – but I have really short legs, no hips, no waist, broad shoulders and no tatas 😛 (Around minute 23 of my vlog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqFJbW6qIlw&t=1348s&index=1&list=PL9J0KziyQwpwgetg4WT6UbD6C55rPPTBc you can see my figure decently, and here you can see me 1 year ago in my elopement dress for an even better idea https://imgur.com/a/Jx56G ). My issue with dresses is that if they fit at the waist, they’re usually super large on where boobs are supposed to be and if it fits perfectly on top and bottom, I can’t breathe.
Also, since we only use our motorcycle as transport means, a dress that I can wear over jeans for the home-party trip would be great 😀
TIA

20 Oct 2017Hi!! you are stunning!
I love these choices from Asos Petite. Its my go to when I need to search for a formal occasion.
Hopefully you have time to take it to get altered if anything is too big .. a solution for too big in the boob area is always altering where the shoulders are. that should help with any excess fabric you can youtube how to alter at shoulder and a ton of videos should pop up where you can hand stitch.
But since these are from the petite it shouldn’t be too bad. take a look:
http://rstyle.me/n/ctfz5mccrax Love the idea of this with a golden lid and red lips and sparkly accessories.
https://shop.mango.com/mx/mujer/bisuteria-pendientes/pendientes-cristales-facetados_13027631.html?c=PL&n=1&s=accesorios.accesorio;48,448.bisuteria48,448;Pendientes
Can do any heel really since its black. Could be cool in a metallic to dress it up a bit more.
Also love the idea of this jumpsuit on you and the styling on the model is something I would do as well. Hair wise to keep it chic. Again that bronzey eye red lip combo would be gorg.
http://rstyle.me/n/ctfz65ccrax
But I would go for an earring thats a bit more interesting than just a hoop. LOVE THESE: https://shop.mango.com/mx/mujer/bisuteria-pendientes/pendientes-geometricos_13040427.html?c=OR&n=1&s=accesorios.accesorio;48,448.bisuteria48,448;Pendientes
Pair it with some platform shoes, You’ll be so comfy and look taller 😉
HAVE FUN!!

13 Oct 2017hi!! I’m going to New York for three days next month and need some outfit inspo!! I have an edgy but girly style and have been STUMPED on what to wear!! thanks!!
amy serrano
20 Oct 2017I would do patent leather trousers, a cream turtleneck, w/ a check coat blazer overtop and a tan french beret and a bootie. You can easily wear that walking around town and it easily transitions for dinner.
Pair with some thick gold hoops.
You can do a cream turtleneck (same one) or crew neck with cropped girlfriend jeans and sneakers ( I’ve been loving the vintage reeboks) with an oversized tan camel coat for site seeing or going about town.
You can do black cozy turtle neck dress with the tan camel coat overtop and black thigh high boots a la stuart weitzman.
You can do cream cropped pants, if you’re brave, with the cream turtleneck and the tan coat and sneakers.
Have fun in new york!!

15 Oct 2017Hello Amy, I recently discovered you and I am obsessed with your videos! As a petite woman, I struggle finding flattering professional clothing that does not drown me in fabric. I love H&M, but I would appreciate suggestions for other affordable stores that can suit my needs. *pun intended* Thanks!
amy serrano
20 Oct 2017I’m petite as well ! I think Topshop petite has a great section although quite small in store. Asos petite is also really great and has a vast variety. My best suggestion is to just get things altered that way you dont feel as restricted. For professional I would pop into Uniqlo and try some of their trousers. They hem them for free in store. xo

20 Oct 2017Hi
It always so fun to pop into thrift stores to look for vintage tees. I would start there you’ll find better prices. If you want a vintage inspired look: check https://daydreamerla.com/collections/rock-tees
Etsy is always a great place to look at and also resale sites like depop and Poshmark.

with nude slides and a bucket bag http://rstyle.me/n/ctfy4dccrax

16 Oct 2017Hello Amy! I love your videos. Can you help me with hair/makeup/accesories with this dress? http://www.chantall.sk/public/gallery/dsc_0459-2.jpg
I have got it in pink though… And it is for a wedding 🙂 Thank you, :*******
amy serrano
20 Oct 2017Hi!
For makeup I would go with a soft brown eye and soft shimmery inner corner and a dewy highlight. For lips I would do a red lip to make a statement and have it be a bit more fashion forward. If you feel like a red lip is too bold opt for a pinky nude.
For hair since the neckline is pretty high I would part your hair down the middle and sleek it to a mid pony. not super low but not super high. Keeps it fresh.
For accessories I’d do a very small dainty earrings or stud. I love these http://rstyle.me/n/ctfyttccrax
http://rstyle.me/n/ctfyubccrax
Shoes I love a style similar to what the model has on in the link you sent. Nude would love fab

amy serrano
20 Oct 2017Hi!
I would pair it with statment earrings and your hair slicked back in a low pony. if you have very long hair a high pony would be super chic as well. or your hair parted down the middle with your hair tucked behind your ears to show off your earrings.
These are my favorite earrings: http://rstyle.me/n/ctfygiccrax http://rstyle.me/n/ctfyivccrax http://rstyle.me/n/ctfyjmccrax
I would do a black smokey eye and a nude lip.
Simple heels and a sleek clutch.

I think will look great with tight leather pants
Try: http://rstyle.me/n/ctg4xdccrax or http://rstyle.me/n/ctg4x8ccrax http://rstyle.me/n/ctg4yfccrax
and heeled booties or simple sneakers, Converse or something similar.
Also you can wear a mini skirt but the sweater untucked and over the skirt. dont worry if the skirt doesn’t show it’ll peak through a bit when you’re moving/walking… and then boots similar to those she has on in the link you sent.

22 Oct 2017Hi thank you so much! A leather jacket is something that can literally go over top everything. One of my favorite uniforms is denim a white tee and a leather jacket. Super basic but a classic. But experiment with your dresses to chill things out or to give things just a subtle hint of coolness xo

I bought a black and white checkered mini skirt a few weeks ago but I’m not sure what to wear with it do you have any idea what I can wear as a top?
amy serrano
22 Oct 2017Hey! So cute… you can wear it with a knit sweater and booties or sneakers for a Casual look. A turtle neck and knee high boots for a going out look. You can do a hoodie and Chelsea boots or even white sneakers and a sunglasses think something like the le specs cat eye. For a “street” style type of look. You can also do with a white T-shirt a black blazer and pumps and black semi opaque tight for a dressier more profesh vibe you can sport for a night out.

23 Oct 2017Hey Amy, I came across to one of your videos titled “How to become a wardrobe stylist” & I find your video very interesting and resourceful. I just got out of high school & taking a year gap now. I’ve been really into fashion but I’m in a situation where I dont know if I should take a course in fashion just to get a degree from college or can I just walk into any fashion store & ask if I could have a chance of experience what working in a fashion industry feels like. Need an honest opinion, is it nesseccary to go through college and study fashion just to get a job in the fashion industry? Because I dont feel like going into college helps with anything that has to do with especially fashion.
I hope you can help me with this! Thanks Amy.

27 Oct 2017Hi!

Thanks for your help <3
amy serrano
27 Oct 2017Sounds like fun!
You can pair that skirt with a band tee or a distressed white tee, something like this http://rstyle.me/n/ctm5tbccrax
For the tights you should try a nude tight that will still look like your legs 🙂 or an opaque black tight would be rad too!
For shoes I would go with a snake patterned bootie or a western looking bootie.http://rstyle.me/n/ctm5vqccrax
http://rstyle.me/n/ctm5vwccrax
I think you can have alot of fun with hair and makeup! I think that with the fringe skirt will help you nail a coachella look xo

I personally love Elizabeth and James fragrances( faves are the OG black and white Also bourbon is so nice for the A/W) Glossier just launched their new fragrance and its such a nice blend for a day time scent. The top is from Zara. The lipstick was Pixi (can’t remember the shade) but its part of their “your lips but better” collection. The hairbrush is super random I can’t even remember. The product I used in my hair was Drybar’s Chaser and the Ouai Matte Pomade.

27 Oct 2017Hi Amy. Can you recommend a facial and a body moisturizer. My skin has been so flaky and dry and nothing seems to work. Help!! Thank you!
amy serrano
27 Oct 2017For face moisturizer try Glossier Moisturizer Rich (my holy grail), or It Cosmetics Confidence in a cream, I love that both of those work well under makeup so you can even wear them during the day. At night if you’re still feeling dry try including an oil. I’ve been loving the Caudalie night repair oil and also the Fresh Beauty Ancien oil if you want something on the more economical side the marula oil by The Ordinary is great!!
For body I love C.Booths and this Shea Moisture one http://rstyle.me/n/ctm5ewccrax again an oil right after the shower is super nice as well. I like to use the Neutrogena light sesame oil xo

28 Oct 2017Hi Amy!
To start off, I am so glad that my roommate introduced me to your channel, and I just love how real and down to earth you are. I am currently attending CSULB as a fashion merchandising student as well, and will be graduating next semester. However, I am in a bit of a dilemma, since I have only had one “internship” and frantically looking for another one which is required for next semester. I recently started driving/got a car not too long ago, and driving in L.A. seems very hectic and stressful. What advice would you give to someone like me who has minimal experience and want to land a meaningful internship, or any other ways to stand out? My last one wasn’t the best in terms of treatment and I honestly did not learn much, but I understand it’s competitive. I am honestly open to anything, as I just really want to learn! Thank you in advance!

3 Nov 2017Hi!
Thank you! Congrats on almost being done with University!
I would say to stand out is to always communicate. Introduce yourself to everyone! Be kind, stay busy… like find other tasks to do that you know have to be done and you’re able to without being told to… basically taking initiative. Be a pleasure to be around, even when you dont want to be there suck it up and put on a smile because vibes are contagious. If the people you are interning for suck and are constantly complaining I dare you to make the genuinely smile.
Thats awesome that you want to learn, internships are perfect for that. ABSORB everything! and collect your contacts along the way.

29 Oct 2017Hello Amy, first of all your videos are really amazing and are helping me with finding my own style. So recently I bought this jumpsuit (http://tablet.hm.com/de/product/69727?article=69727-A&cm_vc=SEARCH). I also want to wear this on more causal days and right now where I live it’s fall. What can I wear under this jumpsuit and which accessories would you choose?
amy serrano
3 Nov 2017Hi!
Thank you
Cute jumpsuit! I would pair it with a turtle neck for this colder weather. A knit will help it feel more casual and will be a nice play on textures, since the jumpsuit is a satin material.
http://rstyle.me/n/ctu4w2ccrax
http://rstyle.me/n/ctu4w9ccrax
I would pair it with these booties (http://rstyle.me/n/ctu4vzccrax) for a pop of color and I love that it comes up higher on your ankle since the jumpsuit is cropped. Great for fall!
I also love this Hat to complete the look http://rstyle.me/n/ctu4vuccrax
I would also add a jacket like thishttps://www.zara.com/us/en/oversized-check-coat-p08284749.html?v1=5055520&v2=733882 if its very cold.

30 Oct 2017Hey Amy,
What are the best heels for a pear-shaped, tall woman for all occasions? I find that my platform pumps make my legs look fat lol. Ayuda! Gracias Amy! Un beso!
amy serrano
3 Nov 2017HI!
If its a rounded toe pump I totally get you thats why I stay clear of those.
I think you should try a pump that has a slight point or go for a ankle strap open toe. It’ll make your legs look leaner.

7 Nov 2017Hi Amy! Love your style and your content on both Instagram and YouTube channel! I wanted to ask where you got the olive green dress you wore for the makeup by Mario event? So beautiful! Also I just had a baby about a year ago and sometimes my time to pamper myself or get ready isn’t how it used to. It’s hard for me to put things together or I’m on a time crisis that i just tend to put on literally anything. Sometimes I do feel hideous but what can I do to feel like myself again? My style is pretty much like yours but i have wide hips so sometimes a few garments don’t flatter my body, especially having a pixie cut (which I’m figuring out to style) Check out my instagram page! @noveau_marilyn what do you recommend for an everyday look/style as well as makeup
amy serrano
10 Nov 2017Hi! Thanks for showing me love. The olive green dress was second hand I can’t even remember from where I go to a lot of consignments shops.
But moving onto your question:
Please don’t feel hideous you are gorgeous!!! And your family is beautiful!
I think you’re not giving yourself enough credit! Your makeup is flawless. I love what youre doing.

8 Nov 2017Hi Amy!
I am obsessed with your YouTube channel! You are so lovely. Anyway, do you have any style tip from transitioning from college to more real world?
Thanks!
amy serrano
10 Nov 2017Hi!
I would say to step up your shoe game!
Booties are still quite comfortable but just take your outfits to another level.
Also loafers or mules if you want to be even more comfortable but still look really pulled together.
Try incorporating some trousers. They can still be fun and fashion-y you can try them cropped or maybe wide leg.
If you can mix these pieces with your college pieces like jeans and t-shirt I think it’ll make a smooth transition.

8 Nov 2017Hi Amy! I just found your youtube and can already find myself getting ready to binge all of your videos! I’m currently a junior in high school and one of the many things I’ve thought about going into is Wardrobe Styling. I’m currently on your “How to become a Wardrobe Stylist” video and I just had a question. I understand a lot about internships because I’ve looked into several, but you were saying how you sent in your resume and I was wondering if there’s a certain kind of thing that should be on resume to get one of these internships?
amy serrano
10 Nov 2017Hi! I am NOT a pro at writing resumes so I don’t want to guide you in the wrong direction with what I had on my resume haha BUUT hit up your library and check out the most recent edition of resume writting (published in 2017 if you can) they show you how to use power words that will really get you a glossy resume.
I always embellished the CRAP out of mine!
I would also look at the jobs posting I was applying to and USUALLY they had what they expect from applicants so I would thesaurus those words and add them to things that I did like twist them in there somehow if it made sense. I know maybe I’m terrible… but I got every job I ever wanted.
Wish you the best of luck in your journey

9 Nov 2017Hi Amy! I plan to go into fashion just like you, but I’m scared that I won’t have a job after I graduate (it’s one of my biggest fears). How did you did you find your job, and how long after graduation did you find it? TIA!
amy serrano
10 Nov 2017Hi!! Don’t be scared babe! Dreams have no room for fears its going to seriously debilitate you if you are always looking for a plan B.
I interned and worked while I was in school so I had built a network of connections making it pretty easy for me to continue working after college. Its like I never really stopped …
I interned for my current position when I was 20 and assisted the same people til now.

9 Nov 2017Hi Amy !! I need your help, How can I style my plaid pants for school or for going out but look stylish and chic?
amy serrano
10 Nov 2017Hi!!
For school I’d pair it with a cozy knit sweater and sneakers. maybe vans, adidas, reeboks those type of classic sneakers or whichever ones you have 😉
and for going out I’d pair them with a strappy heel or patent booties with a matching plaid blazer or a solid blazer that flows with the color of your pants and a crop top inside so a lil bit of skin shows.

10 Nov 2017Hi, Amy! First off: I love you to death. You are one of my favorite youtubers ever and I genuinely enjoy watching your videos. 😀 My question is about your Curology prescription. I was actually looking into trying their product a while back, but got a little nervous about it and didn’t go through with it. I do not have bad acne, but when I break out it gets really bad and nothing really helps except for a few products, but then that breaks out my eczema on my face and its just a big hoopla that I hate having to deal with. Therefore, I was wondering if you would recommend this to someone with my skin type? I’m just iffy about it. I was also curious if you know whether or not it makes you break out if you stop using it? There’s been many products I have heard of that are great when you use them, but break your skin out 10 times worse when you quit. So, that’s my question. I apologize for how long it is 😀 I just need to do something about my skin and I wanted ask you! 😀 Thank you!
amy serrano
10 Nov 2017Hi!
I would just test it out for the first 30 days since its free. They really make it special to you.
You are able to put in all your concerns and message back and forward with the medical provider that is going to help you during your skin care journey. So everything that you’re telling me here you can tell her and they def. take everything into consideration.
I’m nervous now that you mentioned it about my skin getting 10xs worse. LOL I haven’t heard anything like that. I mentioned my best friend used it and then she stopped recently and it wasnt 10 times worse.
Maybe its best to ween yourself of it like using it every other day to maybe once a week and so forth.

10 Nov 2017Hey Amy! I’ve been on the hunt for a good facial sunscreen that won’t burn or breakout my sensitive, acne-prone skin. Also any recommendations for a good gentle cleanser with no AHA’s/BHA’s? I’m starting Curology and the cleanser that I’m currently using for my acne isn’t recommended to use during the treatment. Thanks so much Amy! Love you 🙂

19 Nov 2017What’s your take on “minimalism”
amy serrano
20 Nov 2017Minimalism for me is basics but with an interesting shape or detail. No crazy patterns just Very clean lines and a neutral color palette. Simple Fabrics like satin, silk, denim, poplin, rib knit. I really love what was happening on the runways and editorials in the early 90s. Think Calvin Klein , Celine , the row, cushnie et ochs, Balenciaga, xoxo
Someone
19 Nov 2017What’s your take on the “instagram baddie” trend?
amy serrano
20 Nov 2017My take on the Instagram baddie is how everyone is looking the same. A hoodie paired with over the kneee boots. Crop tops and sweatpants with booties. “Fleeky” makeup. Over done lips and brows.

20 Nov 2017To go into wardrobe styling, do you NEED the degree in fashion? Is it similar to how a nurse would need a degree in nursing to get the job? or does it just help get positions?

Sunday Riley Good Genes is good.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid

ExfoliKate by Kate Sommerville
hydrate, moisturize the skin xo

26 Nov 2017Heyyy Amy do you think a leather skirt can be very wearable? I just bought one for a party but now I am afraid that I could not wear it much 🙁
Can you show me some outfits please, you are like my fashion guru If that is even a thing 💓
amy serrano
29 Nov 2017HI!!
Absolutely wearable. I love leather skirts. You can use it for your party looks. but also casual with a white tee, a stripe tee, a graphic tee, a vintage tee to chill it out with sneakers. or you can pair it with Chelsea boots. Try a bomber jacket or denim jacket.
You can also tuck in a white button down for a more polished look again with sneakers and flat boots (more chill) or with heels (dressier)
you can also wear with over the knee boots and a chunky knit sweater. maybe throw a denim jacket to keep it a bit more everyday and chill.
Hope that sparked a few ideas

30 Nov 2017Hi Amy! I feel like the best coats for really cold weather are puffers. I found a blue velvet puffer in Mango that I love but I don’t know how to wear it since I’m petite… can you help me? thanks for being so cool with us <3
PS: this is the puffer jacket but mine is blue https://www.zara.com/uk/en/quilted-velvet-jacket-p07522254.html?v1=5280522&v2=499002
amy serrano
5 Dec 2017HI!
I totally get you on the petite part but no matter what puffers will overwhelm us a bit so its one of those things that if you really want to wear it you kind of have to accept that its not THE most flattering fit. I actually love this style that you chose though! This puffer is perfect. It looks like it sits at the waist which is a good fit for petites and the blue color is fun! I would stick to wearing it with denim/ trousers for the most flattering fit. So you can wear a turtleneck, sweater or even a hoodie underneath and wear with denim and sneakers or bootie with a heel (if you can for that height). I think a cropped trouser could be cool as well again with a bootie (looks a bit more interesting)
Patent leather could be cool as well if you want something more fashion-y.

1 Dec 2017Hey Amy! So, where I live is literally summer 24/7 and I find it way too hot to wear jeans, booties and jackets (even though wearing them occasionally is fine). I love the grunge, cool look they give off but having to wear them often is extremely uncomfortable. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can still achieve the look I want without having to wear those? Thank you! xx
amy serrano
5 Dec 2017of course! You can incorporate more sneakers into your outfit more since they are so comfortable in the heat. Denim shorts, with bands tees. A lighter weight jacket like a denim jacket is also perfect for this type of weather. I feel like it def. styles the outfit a bit more than just a top and bottom, so opt for lighter weight materials like cotton and linen.
Here is an example of shoes that can also be great. Its a lace up open bootie http://rstyle.me/n/cvfjc7ccrax
I feel like this is a good example of that “cool look but for hot weather http://www.fwrd.com/product-stripe-shirting-shorts/SMCC-WF8/?d=Womens&list=plp-list-16.
I feel like a chunkier sandal usually does the trick and elements of cool jewelry design. Gold, sleek. accessories in general will become your best friend that way your clothes can stay minimal and simple but you still have that edge with your sunglasses, jewelry, shoes etc.

2 Dec 2017hi amy! how do i stop buying clothing for “dream me” and actually buy clothes that will serve me in my daily life?? a few weeks ago, i saw a velvet bodysuit with a neckline down the bellybutton, and i just had to have it. But I’m a college student, super introverted, and rarely ever leave my house, or even go anywhere where i could wear it! and now its just sitting my in closet 🙁
amy serrano
6 Dec 2017I hear you!! Def create a vision in your head of what your Dream You would love to wear on the daily. Maybe you want to switch up your style? Daily outfits can still have some sass and fun to them so don’t rule everything out as special occasion or going out. Also When you are out shopping for new things if you don’t have anything to pair a top with or have an outfit in mind for that top don’t buy it. Trust It’ll still be there if you end finding a pairing, but more often than not we will forget about it. Lol

3 Dec 2017Hi Amy! I was invited to a wedding on Christmas Eve. I’m looking for a VERY formal gown, preferably a maxi or midi length and long sleeves because the weather is going to be cold. I think this one is a wild card. doesn’t have lace. a lil more funky and over budget but i’m absolutely obsessed! https://www.houseofcb.com/antoinette-evergreen-satin-off-shoulder-maxi-wrap-dress-us.html
can be worn with very simple heels and major earrings. I think its such a fun take for a wedding xo

3 Dec 2017I’m a sophmore in high school and I want to be a stylist in the future. I plan on attending FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) but, I don’t know what major I should persue. Do you have any advice? Honestly any stylist advice would be amazing! I watched your stylist videos but I don’t remember hearing anything about majors. Thanks!!
amy serrano
6 Dec 2017Hi love!
You don’t really need a degree or a certain major to pursue styling. If you enter into the corporate world like online retailer as a stylist (styling the online looks), some may ask for college education but any degree they’ll accept. Trust me.
So if your set in school (like I was) pick something that will help you grow the most and serve you in the future.
Think about your long term goals. Business is always helpful, marketing too, art history can give you a new perspective. I did fashion merchandising so it kind of touched on the fashion industry as a whole (from textiles, to buying, to trend forecasting) not sure what majors FIT offers but take full advantage of school if you are going to attend. xo

3 Dec 2017Amy, I am about to graduate in 19 days and I have no idea what to wear to my commencement ceremony. I’m from NY and I’m assuming the weather will be cold but not freezing. I am at a complete loss and cant find any inspiration anywhere. I love your style and how you coordinate pieces, do you have any advice on what I could wear? I am comfortable with any style – midi skirt, pant suit, dresses etc.
Please help, TY ❤️

6 Dec 2017Hi Amy! I have been very indecisive about what I want to do in the future regarding careers! I have a love for everything that has to do with styling, fashion, and clothing. I would love to do something in the fashion industry, it would honestly be a dream job. But I know regarding to the fashion industry it’s either a hit or miss. Would you recommend to pursue a different career and do something in the fashion industry on the side due to financial stability? Any advice is much appreciated! Another question: I know you are a stylist but decided to do YouTube on the side, what made you take that decision? P.S Amy I love ya & your channel!! You’re definitely one of my favorites in the industry!! Oh and thank you in advance!! Xx

6 Dec 2017Hi babe! I know this is going to sound super cliche but Follow the passion not the money. When you find something you love and excites you the money will follow. People can feel your passion and expertise spill out of you and want to pay you for whatever it is that you choose. There is a lot of money in fashion it’s a big part of our economy.
As for YouTube I always wanted to do it so part of it was getting it out of my system. And the other part was to build a brand for myself. I think that’s the way the world is going…
LOVE YOU TOO! Thanks so much xoxo

6 Dec 2017Hey Amy! I was wondering what sort of pieces you would recommend to buy or any general advice as to how to make your style more bold or unique. I love your style and would love to hear how you made it (e.g. that red fluffy bag you wear)! Thank you xx
amy serrano
6 Dec 2017Hi I think just try to see what you gravitate toward. For me I’m a kid at heart so these silly/ fun pieces play with my usual basic/ streamlined wardrobe for a touch of fun. For these items i love to shop cheap. So that bag is from forever 21. Thrift stores are fun to Look in for me as well and a lot of Asian owned stores. Like from China, Korea, Japan. That’s just my aesthetic though. I like to have at least one element of fun or interesting piece to what i wear xx

6 Dec 2017Hi, Amy! How do you wear waistcoats in the winter? And how would you wear them if you need to wear a coat on top of it?
amy serrano
9 Dec 2017Hi i think it’s great to mix in. You can do a blazer style underneath with your coat on top. Mix textures and colors to coordinate. Maybe the waistcoat inside is Check print with the coat being solid or vice versa. I think it can look really interesting and cool. I love layers

6 Dec 2017Hey there Amy! Just recently found you on youtube and I’m so glad I did! I’m 16 and really want to restart my wardrobe. I don’t have much money and I’m not sure where to start. 7 Dec 2017Hey girl. So I’m a recent Youtube subscriber (yay!) and you’re style and career has really invoked the same love and passion I have for fashion styling. I have a career in marketing/advertising and I don’t want to go back to school… so my question is: What is your advice for someone who wants to get into the industry without having to go back to school? I’m 30 so there’s some (obvious) knowledge there, but aside from trying to be an influencer, is there any other way? Any tips would help. Thanks! – Angela
amy serrano
9 Dec 2017Hi ! Thanks for subscribing! I would recommend reaching out to established Stylists who need the extra hand and ask if you can assist them so you build connections. Get familiar with the scope of the industry through them. Not sure what part of the fashion industry you want to go into sorry I’m assuming stylist but it’s always good to research the industry and start reaching out to those companies/ People you admire so you can learn from them and get your foot in.

7 Dec 2017Hey Amy, I wanted to ask how do I carry an all black outfit? I love an all black look- long sleeved sweaters with tights or plain tshirts with trousers, etc. But I get negative response for it. Do I add a scarf to it and if yes then how or just how do I make it work? Thank you so much. xx

9 Dec 2017Hi! Play around with textures. A chunky knit sweater with black denim and leather jacket. Suede boots. That way it doesn’t look flat and you keep it interesting 🙂

9 Dec 2017Hi Amy! love your channel so much. I’m in high school and have to wear a uniform, how do you recommend spicing it up? we are allowed to wear a light blue school skirt, a navy school skirt, or a grey school skirt (all of the skirts hit around mid thigh) and any blue or white button down or polo along with any color/style – sweater/jacket/tights or shoes (except high heels) we want. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much!
amy serrano
16 Dec 2017Hi! Thanks!
I love this question!
I was queen of jazzing up my uniform as a freshman.
Def add a leather moto style jacket into the mix makes everything cool:
https://www.zara.com/us/en/faux-leather-biker-jacket-p03046041.html?v1=5494375&v2=269184
and a boyfriend type denim jacket https://rstyle.me/n/cvuhciccrax
Of course you can mix and match either of those color combos. they obviously all go together.
Some other colors to try to mix:
Neutrals like: Gray, Cream, Olive
Punch of color: RED, SOFT PINK, Yellow (gold)
Metallics. Mix in snake and leopard.
Try some fun shoes and a punch of color like https://rstyle.me/n/cvuhfqccrax I think burgundy flows well with that color palette.
Boots will be really rad and really help elevate the uniform:
These are fun + chic

https://rstyle.me/n/cvuhsvccrax

Some fun jackets to add some style:

You can do this sweater https://rstyle.me/n/cvuhrkccrax for example a white polo the navy skirt and the burgundy converse and a baker hat https://rstyle.me/n/cvuhsjccrax

13 Dec 2017Hello Amy ! I’m a sucker for high waisted jeans for the confort they give me but my only problem is that they are all short (not the size but like the style) like I never found ones that actually come to the my feet like regular jeans no, they are always a little bit higher which is frustrating because they look like they are cropped which i don’t like and which isn’t advantageous in winter haha. So my question is, can you recommend any high wait jeans (preferably affordable) that actually cover your whole leg (to the top of the feet like regular jeans). Thank you !
amy serrano
16 Dec 2017Take a look through Asos.com. They have an extensive amount of high waist denim.
They also have the “TALL” section which i’m not sure if you’re tall or not but measure your inseam (measure the length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg) and you can see what length works for you because asos has the measurements as well.
Plus pretty affordable there!
Right now cropped styles are in but they def have some full length ones. pay attention to how they fit on the model if they’re wearing pumps its easier to tell than a shoe that cuts at the ankle or a boot.

14 Dec 2017How would you would the “teddy” coat?
amy serrano
16 Dec 2017I love the teddy coat!!
Can wear it over almost anything as far as silhouette goes. I like the idea of pairing it with a high neck (turtle neck) in cream or black and denim and a bootie or sneaker.
can also work well with dresses as well something very plain in style. maybe material can be silky satin. I love to play with textures.
I feel like when a coat is super statement its nice to keep the inside somewhat chill. so the less the better especially since the jacket is so bulky.

Add these items into your wardrobe:
vintage levis (re/done makes great ones) You can Take a look at the high waisted skirt. and the shorts if you don’t want to wear pants.
any Distressed mini skirt would be great as well.
Wear them with t-shirts. Vintage tees (check out thrift store for that enzyme wash finish) or forever21 has some great knock offs.
Crop tops
body suits
sneakers like: http://amzn.to/2AX9Zld
Mules like these would be genius super kendall/gigi style: https://rstyle.me/n/cvuf2pccrax

16 Dec 2017I’m not sure what your budget is but I like these retailers because theyre in that in between spot. Its still fun (i like to have fun with fashion) but styles that are reusable and you wont get sick of them. plus they’re great quality.
Price range is that sweet spot where you’re going to have to spend a little bit more than say H&M but you’re not going to break the bank like Elyse Walker.

17 Dec 2017Hi amy! Do you have any tips for starting out in the fashion industry? I’m a psychology major in a small small city in Canada, and the industry here is non existent. Even in major Canadian cities, there are little oppurtunities in fashion. I’m not exactly sure exactly what part of the industry I’d like to work in, but I’m not sure how to even go about doing so. I’d have to move to New York or something to make something happen, and it’s just extremely difficult 🙁

amy serrano
21 Dec 2017Hi! This lace trim cami is a version of the cami I mention as part of the wardrobe essentials everyone should have. Its super layerable and can go with virtually anything. Its one of those pieces you can wear on its own with trousers/ jeans/ skirts honestly anything or wear under your blazers to keep it a bit more dressy or add a t-shirt underneath to chill it out.
your options are endless

19 Dec 2017Hi Amy, could you give me some outfit recommendations of classy but fun, cause I wanna go to dinner but not like fine dining, just like casual dinning, but since its like festive season so I kinda wanna go classy a lil bit, like i wanna grab my red pencil skirt but just dont get the idea. usually I pair it just with a white t shirt and adidas. oh and would you please give a makeup look recommendation or advice for the outfit? thankyouuu love you
amy serrano
21 Dec 2017Hi!
You can pair the red pencil skirt with a white blouse/shirt
Try something like this so it doesn’t look too “office-y” https://rstyle.me/n/cvy7rvccrax
and you can pair it with some black/white/silver booties
make sure they’re ankle booties or sock booties that are super tight on the ankle (flattering)
and if they have a point to it would be even better.
Another option could be black blouses. Go for something with volume up top
like:
https://rstyle.me/n/cvy73iccrax
again with booties. I think booties are the best for casual but still “dressy” or I even think any of these more dressier blouses can work with your adidas.
I also think red and pink are a winning combo so maybe https://rstyle.me/n/cvy7wvccrax
with white booties
For makeup try https://www.pinterest.com/pin/4916664843109075
with really effortless bed head https://youtu.be/N2UnSt68430
or you can do https://www.pinterest.com/pin/565624034442380386/ for an unexpected twist.
to chill out the outfit and makeup. If you opt for the adidas I would slick your hair back into a bun to look a bit more classy and polished
xo

20 Dec 2017What can I wear with light grey jeans? I own some and they fit very well but I haven’t been able to create enough outfits with them.
amy serrano
21 Dec 2017Hi Grey is a neutral color so it can really go with so much
Try pairing with Navy, Red, Black, White, Olive, soft pink, burgundy, pops of yellow even xoxo

20 Dec 2017Hi! Can you give me different options on how i can style a basic black long sleeve bodycon midi dress ( stops a little longer than mid thigh) for New Years? Thank you ❤️ Xoxo
amy serrano
21 Dec 2017HI!
Of course your accessories are going to really dictate what type of look it’ll turn into
If you want to go a bit more classic/polished you can pair with a pump (maybe try a metallic to make it fun)
or a pop of color (red, fuschia? blue velvet maybe?)
Go for statement earrings over a necklace. Check out Aldo, H&M, Forever21 for some fun statement earrings at affordable prices. Highly recommend Aldo for special occasion as they look a bit more expensive.
Polished but statement earrings: https://rstyle.me/n/cvy8yuccrax
https://rstyle.me/n/cvy8y8ccrax
https://rstyle.me/n/cvy8zcccrax
https://rstyle.me/n/cvy8ziccrax
For a bit more fun and edgy
try pairing the dress with some scrunched booties As la YSL https://rstyle.me/n/cvy829ccrax
Go for some more simple earrings go for more sleek statement earrings
check out AND OTHER STORIES for these I would link selects but I literally love everything.
https://www.stories.com/us/Jewellery/Statement_earrings
if the taller rouged boots are a bit too much for you you can opt for a sleeker ankle bootie with a heel still again grab metallic or maybe something patent or velvet its NYE after all 🙂
If you want something in between those too
do a super statement earring like this: https://rstyle.me/n/cvy87tccrax
with a shoe like the Stuart Weitzman Nudist or maybe something a bit strappy like: https://rstyle.me/n/cvy85tccrax

22 Dec 2017Hey Amy! So my school formal (same as prom but I’m in Australia) is coming up soon and I have no idea what kind of dress i want or where to get it. I want something a bit different and don’t want anything tacky (e.g. Head to toe sequin gown). I’m also a size UK12 so I’m a bit on the curvier side so need something to suit my body type. Any suggestions on what I should look out for / where to look?
Thanks Amy xxxx
amy serrano
31 Dec 2017Hi babe!
I wish I could recommend a few different sites to shop but i’m just not too sure about australia.
I love Asos though for special occasion!
and I love these options for you:
https://rstyle.me/n/cv89qvccrax
https://rstyle.me/n/cv89q8ccrax
https://rstyle.me/n/cv89reccrax
https://rstyle.me/n/cv89rgccrax
For the simple black dresses I know they can seem a bit boring but think Emrata and how the shoes and accessories can really help out a simple dress. Its a way to really look chic and timeless but still having fun with fashion (through accessories + also hair and makeup!) def. do it up in the makeup dept xoxo
I hope this helps.

22 Dec 2017Hi Amy,
A pretty specific one, but thought you might have seen something that could work! Basically I’m considering getting these mid-heel Gucci loafers (https://www.gucci.com/uk/en_gb/pr/women/womens-shoes/womens-pumps/leather-mid-heel-pump-p-408208C9D001000?position=85&listName=PGEU4Cols&categoryPath=Women/Womens-Shoes/Womens-Pumps), but they’re pretty expensive! Any dupes you can recommend that are similar? Still might get them since they’re so classic and beautiful and wearable but thought I should give my bank account at least a chance at not being so heavily dented!
Thank you!
amy serrano
31 Dec 2017They are so good and going to last you for so long!!I say go for it.
These are similar https://rstyle.me/n/cv886jccrax
but I think you’ll always think about the gucci’s in the long run.def get them if you feel like you’ll get a lot of use out of them 🙂

27 Dec 2017Hi Amy! I’m throwing a New Year’s Eve party at my place and there are some friends coming (around 10-15 people). Of course it’s a great occasion for getting a bit extra with my look as I am more an-effortles-kind-of-gal usually. I’m blonde and pretty fair, with yellow undertone and I’m gonna wear a black crochet dress, but it’s simple so not too extra. That’s why I want to do something special with my face lol, but dunno what:
1. red lips with a naked, bronzy eye
2. red lips with a naked, bronzy eye + glitter in the inner corner (gold?silver?)
3. nude lips with emerald green eye?
4. red lips with nabla alchemy eyeshadow? https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-adSSj6o3JLE/WV-4El9YjJI/AAAAAAAAiaQ/nM5hqfTPzj436mFgzNNqkm1BO4s6U8ofwCLcBGAs/s1600/nabla-alchemy-lotus-mystic-eresia-swatche-freedmination.jpg
please, help me, youtube is full of ideas but majority of them seems… tacky and your looks which are great are completely different – I mean my skin tone and eyes and hair are completely different and I’m not sure it would suit me… 🙁
thanks and love you!
amy serrano
31 Dec 2017Hi! BABE!
I hope i’m not too late in responding!
I’m loving option #2 def. pop that glitter in the inner corner I think silver would be a great contrast to the bronze in a super cool way. and can be super fun especially for the occasion on with your blonde hair and skin tone !
I love that!!
and the red lip will def tie it all together.
Happy new year !! ly xo

28 Dec 2017Hey Amy! What are the 3-4 staple pairs of jeans a girl should own? Could you recommend some colours, cuts and brands?
amy serrano
31 Dec 2017I think it’ll vary for each body type. I think we tend to gravitate towards the jeans that we feel the best in.
For me, my go-tos are Re/dones or Vintage levis in general because they’re classic/timeless. I never look back and be like oh my god why did I wear those even 3 years later. I like a tighter fit straight cut and a bit cropped on the ankle.
I think black jeans are always a good idea.
I tend to go for higher waist and straight and slim.
also a pair that has a bit of stretch to it. Top shop makes some great ones.
My favorite place to buy denim:
Urban Outfitters
Re/Done
Levis
Agoulde
Asos
GRLFRND denim
Topshop

30 Dec 2017Hey amy! What shoes should i wear with a black dress? (Its a black velvet dress, it has a V neck and its all tide in the body) Its for new year. Also sorry if I wrote something wrong, English is not my first language.
amy serrano
31 Dec 2017Hi! You really have so many different options to choose from since your dress is black.
You can go for a pop of color
or since its new year you can go for Sparkle and shine. Something metallic is always my go to because you can reuse it so many times.
I would do a strappy heel if you’re into heels or a ankle bootie with a high heel for something a bit more edgy.

You can wear it with perhaps anything sparkly in closet. you can use layers to make it more interesting while still remaining warm.

4 Jan 2018Hi Amy,
I absolutely adore the Parisian style and would love to try to incorporate some of it into my day-to-day outfits and perhaps start to build a whole wardrobe revolving aroung the simple, classy and chic look, but I don’t know where to start.
Do you have any tips or a list of basic items I should have in my wardrobe to get me started?
amy serrano
17 Feb 2018I’m not french but take a look at my wardrobe essential videos.
I think the Parisian style is very minimalist.
So think Little black dress, crip white button down, denim cropped at ankle, cigarette pants, loafers, mules, black pumps, ballet flats, plain white sneaker,
perhaps a stripe sweater. cashmere, black turtleneck, a nice bag, plain white tee, black blazer, navy blazer.

21 Jan 2018Hi Amy!
I’m on the hunt for snakeskin booties and I haven’t found a pair that I think is just right. Ideally, I’m looking for something that is slightly above the ankle and has a pointed toe. I discovered your Youtube channel during my search and fell in love with both your content and the pair of reptile skin booties you showed in your “10 Shoe Essentials That Always Have Your Back” video. Do you mind telling me what brand/where you found that pair? And any other recommendations of nice snakeskin booties is greatly appreciated!

22 Jan 2018Hi Amy! After 5 different stores and 9 trips (I’m high maintenance, I know) I found my ideal dress for my upcoming graduation. Here’s a link (I plan on getting it in the Ivory colour… if you scroll through the photos it should pop up): https://www.sherrihill.com/style/51671 Now my issue is finding shoes and accessories to add to it. I was thinking something along the lines of a minimalistic approach for the jewellery (pearls and gold in particular) and a pair of pointed-toe pumps… could you possibly help me find some options?? Especially for the shoes! If you have any other insight/suggestions I’d looove to hear them! Thanks girl ❤️

17 Feb 2018Silk cami/ or a crop top with black velvet blazer/leather jacket
Casual Tshirt (graphic, band, plain) with leather jacket or even the velvet blazer.

17 Feb 2018I love the “ex trucker” from Levis’ in the wash Stoop Culture and Groovemarks because they are a nice in between. But play around with the washes (they have a ton) I think either will go with your skin tone.

16 Feb 2018Hello Amy, I’ve been trying t clean out my wardrobe and really make it what I want it to really be. However I’m haveing a hard time finding shorts that work for me. I’m only 5’3 with an hourglass figure and trying to find short that fit is so hard. I have larger size but with a smaller waist I want shorts that my butt doesn’t fall out of and aren’t skin tight on my legs. I can’t seem to find a happy medium with shorts that are long enough but not too long but fit but aren’t skin tight. I’m hoping maybe you know of some places some links you can send me or show me maybe I can find shorts.
amy serrano
17 Feb 2018Hi Babe,
I get exactly what you mean. When you’re out looking for shorts best to look for soft/stretchy materials. Nothing too bulky or denim that is too thick. (not breathable)
I think a “boyfriend” cut or even better than that would be “girlfriend cut” would be nice for you. Mom jeans are great to because they’ll cinch the waist. Instead of it having sit at the hips find some that fit at the waist. you can either alter the waist if its too big or wear a belt.
I would have to check these out in person to really get a feel but these are a few options that I think might work for you:

Something with lace and bodycon would be great. Also, it’s very cold where I live, so nothing above knee length would be a great idea (I get eczema patches in cold weather). Would you be able to recommend me dresses or even recommend websites or stores to visit (in the US)? Also, what makeup and hair should I do? maybe pair with a beret? or a fisherman hat sneakers or booties

18 Feb 2018AMY! I’m going to Miami for Spring Break and am putting together outfits for going out. What do you think of these? Do you have any ideas on how to style these pieces/accessories to add/changes to make?

w/ either a bandeau bralette or super cropped black tee and heels
I watched your vid on online shopping (super helpful!) and I am definitely on a college girl budget. I’m going for a ~cool girl~ vibe, not super into “traditional” club wear. You’ve quickly become one of my go-to youtubers! Keep doing you!

20 Feb 2018Hi babe!!
Miami so exciting!
Okay so
LOOK ONE:
I would go for a statement earring and hair out of your face since you’ll be wearing a hoodie which eats up some of your neck. Maybe a low pony or a high pony or low bun etc. Play with a bold lip 🙂 could be fun
I’d also hop on board to the fanny pack trend I love this one from nasty gal:
http://www.nastygal.com/want-hang-it-up-fanny-pack/AGG90707.html
There are several colors so could be a great way to introduce some color into you all black outfit
OUTFIT 2
OBSESSED!!!!
Maybe add some fun thing stackable rings and delicate earring. or a smaller but thick hoop in gold or silver.
Take a look at And Other Stories for options.
OUTFIT 3
The skirt looks a lil bit long? not sure how tall you are but when both (top and bottom) read a bit oversized it can be overwhelming for the body. I know the jacket is cropped but it still has that boyfriend fit so something a bit tighter at the bottom or shorter would look dope.
I love the idea of both together though. Maybe find a skirt that is a bit more mini?
This is just my assumption based on how tall models are. Its reading long online.
Have fun babe

19 Feb 2018Hi Amy!
I really like the look of white t-shirts but I can never figure out what color bra/bralette to wear under so that its not as visible?
amy serrano
20 Feb 2018Nude seamless bras are the way to go. Try versions that are called specifically “T-shirt” bras.
Sometimes I like to wear black even if it shows through. I kind of like that look but thats just me lol
def. something with a bit of shape will be your best friend here. or if you favor bralettes like me wear
a Breast Shaper (these are my favorites: https://www.shopbop.com/bring/br/v=1/44541.htm)
and put your soft bralette over it. that way your boobs have more of a shape 🙂

20 Feb 2018Hola chicaaaa!! just recently found you this past week and loveee everything from your style to your positive attitude so thanks for that. And also sooo happy to find another latina out here:) haha. Anyway to my question lol…I have a bridal shower to go to and wanted to know if this outfit is suitable for the event. A little info is that it’ll be held at a banquet hall and is happening at the end of April. I have exactly this outfit in mind lol, just because I already have the top and thought the way this blogger ( Allana whos also amazingg) paired the outfit, looked so nice.

Alsoooo would love it if you could give me advice on what to wear to the actual wedding because I’ve never been to one other then when I was little lol
Thank you in advance for your time and help:)
amy serrano
20 Feb 2018Absolutely adore Allana!
I love the way she styled that top I def. think its very appropriate for the bridal shower.
Check out Aritzia, Everlane, or Uniqlo for some great trouser options that are sure to last you!
Love how she went for the pump but you can also go for an ankle strap heel or something more strappy if you want it to be a bit more fun and playful. especially if you find a trouser that is cropped at the Ankle like Allana’s. If the pant falls normally like at the top of your foot I would def go for a pump its more flattering.
For the actual wedding I love these type of dresses:

I dont know what size you wear but look through The Real Real under Self Portrait
such great dresses and since its a consignment website you’ll score some deals:

21 Feb 2018Hi! So I bought these shoes https://goo.gl/4fmkQF and I have NO IDEA how to style them. It was kind of one of those purchases where I knew that I needed them but didn’t think it through… Any ideas on how to style them?
amy serrano
21 Feb 2018Love the way that style looks with jeans with a fray bottom cropped at the ankle
For top you can do whatever is in season…. is it cold where you live?
chunky knits? layered with with a coat
or you can go with a t-shirt route. tuck in the tee and put a cool belt with it
and a small bucket bag

5 Mar 2018Hi,
So I have this problem where I just sorted out my closet of clothing pieces that I don’t use and now it’s empty…
I don’t have anything but basics left and I don’t know what I want in it now.
I don’t really know what my personal style is and I nearly to never find something in stores that I like.
What to do?
amy serrano
20 Mar 2018H! Dont mean to self promote but have you seen my “how to find your personal style”
What excites and makes you feel good?
Any music?
what images makes you feel something save them all onto one space and you can start figuring out what you tend to gravitate toward. Dont worry about naming it anything for now just see what you are drawn to.
and then from there you can go shopping. go in person. and try things on. You’ll get a better idea of how they make you feel.

7 Mar 2018Hi Amy,
I’ve watched Some of Your videos and i really like them! Especially your fashion videos.
I’ve got one question. I’ve recently bought a see through top/blouse. I’m really in love with IT but i have found Some difficulties with wearing it because it’s see through. I’m not comfortable wearing it with just a bra or bralette underneath it. So my question is how would you style it? Link: https://instagram.com/p/BcvbHU3jAtv/
With love,
Maria. (Girl from Holland)

20 Mar 2018Hi I would pair it with a white cami like this https://rstyle.me/n/cz26dwccrax

7 Mar 2018Hi Amy, I really love your style videos and closet videos and basically all your videos about fashion. I was wondering if you could take a peek at my style board and tell me what vibes it gives you and what high street brands I should check out. Thank you so much ❤️ https://pin.it/kghlioxgnlc7xd
amy serrano
20 Mar 2018Hi
Take a look at the site MODCLOTH I think you might find some things you will like.
As far as other specific High street brands. I couldn’t think of many but I know stores like HM, Topshop, and Zara will have styles similar to what you’re looking for.
open your pinterest board while youre shopping and pay attention to the silhouettes and patterns and fabrics.
Here are a few HM picks you might like: http://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0615491001.html

13 Mar 2018Where are your favorite places to buy some jewelry? I find all my jewelry shops boring tbh haha
xxx
amy serrano
20 Mar 2018I tend to go for a lot of costume cheaper type jewelry
I frequent TOPSHOP + ALDO ACCESSORIES I also really like Free People when I’m feeling a bit more “spendy” lol
but I loooove to collect jewelry when I travel mostly. Those are like my pieces and I resort to top shop and aldo when I have a specific look in mind.
OOOO also check out BaubleBar I’ve been having an obsession with them lately.

15 Mar 2018Hey Amy! I am so glad that I have the opportunity to ask you for advice. In a few days I have a concert (I am a musician) and will wear a stage outfit that will look a bit like this: http://appycat.co.in/product/shop-velvet-camisole-with-sheer-blouse. Plus these earrings: http://www.hm.com/de/product/99480?article=99480-A . My question is: What make-up should I use? I have brown long hair and pale skin, think about the singer Lorde. I thought about to use an eye-shadow in the color of the earrings (maybe yellow?) but I’m feeling that it would be too much, since it’s a small show and the other musicians will probably go in jeans and hoodie (but maybe I should not care?). I really love eyeliner art, what you see at fashion shows these days (extra sharp lines, dots) or some glitter eye-shadow. I want to look modern but also “put together” as you always say. Have you any advice on what to do? Would 100% appreciate it <3.
amy serrano
20 Mar 2018This could be really cool but instead of blue do purple!
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/510454939009397490/
I also like the idea of a glossy lid but mix in some glitter particles it stands out. Keep the rest of your face really minimal and fresh faced with a blotted berry stain lip

15 Mar 2018Hi Amy! Hope your day is going good! I’m aware that you attended CSULB for fashion merchandising and I’m currently interested in doing something in the fashion industry such as styling! I’m currently attending CSULA, but thinking of transferring to Cal State LB for fashion merchandising. Would you recommend Cal State Long Beach’s program? Are there any cons of majoring in fashion merchandising?
Hope to hear from you soon & thank you in advance xx
amy serrano
20 Mar 2018I enjoyed CSULB fashion program. I feel like I learned alot. For styling not so much.
But because it is so broad it helps you get a good idea of the different careers in fashion if your style trying to figure out what to get into. I found the classes to be overall enjoyable (as enjoyable as school can get tho) because I lived for fashion.
I love that I was able to network with no only my peers but with past alum who went onto do big things in the fashion industry. So that was a nice plus.
I can’t think of any cons other than I was there during all the budget cuts so I had the same 3 teachers for almost all my classes lol
Would’ve been nice to have a variation.

16 Mar 2018Hi Amy,
Is the cartier love bracelet still on trend? Would you recommend investing in a Chanel bag instead?
Thanks in advance!! Love your blog!
amy serrano
17 Mar 2018Personally I would go with a Chanel bag 🙂

18 Mar 2018Hi Amy! How would you recommend styling over the knee boots? Is it possible/practical to transition them into the spring and summer? Here’s a link to the ones I have. Thank you!https://m.us.topshop.com/en/tsus/product/casper-high-leg-boots-7017776
amy serrano
20 Mar 2018Hi!
I think over the knee boots are the most versatile shoe because you can use them to dress something up or down.
You can wear with denim, black jeans etc. Tighter fits look best.
You can wear them with skirts. denim skirts. patterned skirts. (shorter mini skirt styles look best with your style of boot)
For transitioning pair them with black tights. Not super opaque so you can see a bit of your skin shine through for a variation of textures against your super black boots.
For spring/summer a boho style dress would look great with these boots.

19 Mar 2018Hola Amy! I have a college interview this Wednesday and I do not know what to wear. I want to look presentable but also youthful, it’s very hot right now were I live (Mexico) so I’m in a dilemma haha. Hope you can help me 🙂 Love you xx
amy serrano
20 Mar 2018Hi!
Go for some light weight trousers for a bit more of a youthful vibe you can do a cropped version but still wear a closed toe shoe. high heel would look so chic or mules.
I Think this outfit would look really great https://rstyle.me/n/cz2y33ccrax
I like this as well. I personally would go for a white blouse over the stripes but i think the stripes could be cute too and do appear more youthful especially if thats your style. https://rstyle.me/n/cz2y6fccrax
Good luck on your college interview !

19 Mar 2018Hi Amy! I’m going to an SF Giants game in May. Can you suggest an outfit idea?
xxxx
amy serrano
20 Mar 2018Hi!
I would do cropped denim with a white tee
and a patch work denim jacket incase its still pretty breezy.
I LOVE THIS JACKET and its on sale! https://rstyle.me/n/cz2ykkccrax
For shoes go for a comfy sneaker or a chunky bootie.
pair it with an SF Giants baseball cap and have fun !!

20 Mar 2018Hi Amy!! Love your videos. I’ve been keeping up with you on Instagram and I remember you posted about a website were you found vintage clothing. If I remember correctly it was like 3 tops or so. Just wanted to know what the name of the online store/shop was, I loved your finds!
amy serrano
20 Mar 2018Hi
It wasn’t online and they weren’t vintage. They were from a store called Crossroads. They just resell clothing so its all modern, gently used clothes 🙂
